Re-building lives post-pandemic

Emergency food parcels for drivers
Emergency food parcels for drivers

The fourth wave of Covid-19 has been the most devastating for our women drivers in Sri Lanka.

Not only have their daily wages been abruptly stopped once again, but the recent food shortage of basic foodstuffs is causing hunger for mums and thier families as this is their staple diet.

As our single parent mums struggle to provide food on the table to feed their hungry children we continue to support with emergnecy food drops, a welcome relief especially to those who live in some of the remotest areas.

Each emergency food parcel delivered contains the following

Red raw Rice 3Kg

White raw Rice 2Kg

Dhal 1kg

Chick Peas 1Kg

Sugar 1Kg

Wheat Flour1Kg

Tea leaves 200g

Full cream milk powder 400g

Breakfast Cereal 400g

Noodles 1 Pkt

Soyameat 200g

Dries sprats (Dried fish) 250g

Chocolate Biscuits 500g

Big Onions 1Kg

Potato 1Kg

Carrot 500g

Green Beans 500g

Green Chilies 200g

Cabbage 500g

Brinjals 500g

Pumpkin 500g

Tomato 500g

Lime 250g

Toothpaste (L)

Washing Powder

Washing soap

Toilet soap

This will feed our driver families for the next month whilst they are waiting for schools to reopen.

School runs are the main source of income for our think pink taxis so we will continue to support until they can get back on the road and become independent once again.

Each food parcel costs just £15 to feed a family for a whole month pleas ehelp support if you are able.

Thank you
