Sustainable Skills and Empowerment for Girls.

Reach out Nkokonjeru Parish HIV/AIDS Initiative (RONHAI) would like to work with GlobalGiving Foundation to reduce human suffering and vulnerability and dependency among girls in Buikwe district by using vocational skills training. The project will benefit 9000 girls aged 14-18 who dropped out of school. the project will reduce unemployment by producing job creators thus after training girls will start their own jobs.

The community is faced with unemployment especially among the youth who make up more than 74% Its the youth who are affected most by unemployment which leads to their vulnerability for instance unemployed girls end up in bars and streets as sex workers empowering these girls with vocational skills will help them alot by making them able to open up their own work places like after training a girl will start a tailoring job at outside a shop or closer to a school.

Training the youth with vocational skills will end this problem as skills acquired will help them create their own jobs, reduce their vulnerability, and enable them to share their acquired skills with more girls in the community

Long-Term Impact

The project will train 9000 youths in vocational skills such as tailoring thus allowing them to rise out of poverty, hence they will be able to provide for their own children there fore improving the well-being in the community
