Dear COHI Family,
Happy New Year! We've made it through the wreckage of 2020 and have finally entered a year where a vaccine and a return to (somewhat) normalcy is in sight.
But for our partners down in Puerto Rico, it's not that simple. The is still experiencing the effects of being ravaged by Hurricane Maria and the subsequent earthquakes. People are living without running water or electricity and some still don't have access to their own home. Even before the pandemic, this meant that our partner midwives and birthworkers were operating in dangerous conditions. The virus has only made that more severe.
That's why COHI is working to supply our partner birth clinic and its patients with the tools necessary to conduct telehealth work and, if an in-person visit is needed, the PPE supplies needed to make sure that both sides remain healthy and safe. Will you join us?
