This project will help disadvantaged, 3 to 6-year-old rural kids in the Kandal province of Cambodia receive early childhood care and education. Thanks to your generous support, our organisation Aide et Action International will be able to build three new community preschools, where 90 children will receive all the education, nutrition, health and play they need to start off on the right foot!
In disadvantaged, rural Cambodia preschools are a rarity. Three to six years-old often just stay at home, unable to gain the vital cognitive, social and emotional skills they need for healthy development. They often suffer from illnesses and malnutrition due to lack of water, sanitation and food. Aide et Action International intervenes in the early childhood stage through building community preschools in the Kandal province. This project will add another three schools to the nine already built.
As specialists in early childhood care and education, we will promote the wellbeing of 90 young children in three new villages in the Kandal province. We will recruit and train teachers from the local community; provide age-appropriate and child-friendly learning material; promote hygiene through the provision of adequate wash facilities, and the education of children/parents; improve overall health of children through the provision of daily nutritious meals, and hands-on environmental education
The project will provide vital early-childhood care and education to disadvantaged children. It will enhance their school readiness, making them better prepared for primary school, drop less out of school, and potentially reach better academic levels. They will receive daily nutritious meals enabling them to grow healthily and learn more attentively. Their health will improve thanks to regular hand washing and monthly medical check-ups. Local jobs will be created and parents better educated.
