The project seeks funding to build ultramodern clinic at Jordan Education Development Center for orphans and vulnerable children who lack access to affordable health care services in Kasungu District.
Malawi is faced with the challenge of providing adequate health care services especially to marginalized communities. Santhe area has a small health center which serves over 468,000 people and suffers acute drug shortage. Women and children walk long distances to access affordable healthcare services at Kapiri Mission hospital. Many of them die of treatable diseases on the way before attended by health personnel. The clinic will save lives of children and mothers by 30%.
The project will provide additional healthcare facility to serve women and children on time. The clinic will provide drug stocks in adequate supply at affordable means. The facility will focus mostly on children and women from marginalized families. The approach will reduce congestion in available health facilities.
The ultramodern clinic will save 30% of lives of children and another 18% of mothers due to the availability of improved healthcare services. Drug shortage will be reduced at the existing health care facility.
