Our Global Giving Project Goal is to build a new permanent school: 1,000 children holistically educated together with the textbooks, uniforms, access to a doctor, and clean water. Kibera is the largest urban settlement in Afhalf of the population are children under 18. In 2017, every person could live with clean water, education, medical care, and food. The opportunity for education is rare in Kibera. Education is the strongest global indicator of income, longevity and psychological wellbeing.
ABOUT KIBERA Estimated population: 500,000 - 1 million people living in one square mile with scarce access to purified water, healthy food, and adequate housing. Computer exposure and knowledge is estimated at 2%. Kibera is adversely affected by the global market system resulting in: extreme poverty, psychological stress, and decreased life span. EDUCATION IN KIBERA 60% of children do not receive education 20% of children are at risk of or can be categorized as orphans.
Global One Foundation's purpose is to foster extraordinary dreams in urgent circumstances. A new school immediately cultivates wellbeing and a future for 500-1000 new children, over 5,000 in 10 years. Global One has established the following schools in Kibera: Global One Lower Primary (Elementary) School: Infant through Grade 5, Global One Upper Primary (Middle) School: Grades 6 - 8 Global One Secondary (High) School: Grades 9 - 12.
The longterm impact of another school means thousands of children within a decade will have received a primary school education. They will have gotten the food they needed, the clothing, and been nurtured in a holistically-focused learning environment necessary for escaping the life challenges inherent in Kibera's daily living.
