Divine Mercy Development Foundation wish to implement a project in Maliba and Bugoye subcounties of Kasese District, Uganda to support 400 girl adolescents reproductive health rights protection. Project goal: To contribute towards awareness and protection of girl adolescents aged 13-17 years reproductive Health Rights
Findings indicate that there is high rate of girl adolescents health rights violation in form early marriages, defilement that exposes the girl adolescents to vulnerability of acquiring HIV/AIDS, get child birth complications, poor nutrition. Subjecting them to such situations, denies them their health rights and when the condition of living becomes worse, many of these have resorted to self denial and which results to further suffering and finally others die. DIMDEF intents to support
The project will conduct stake holders meetings, mobilize the community, create awareness on girl adolescent rights through radio programs, meetings distribution of sensitization materials and conduct training . Train vulnerable girl adolescents in vocational skills, monitor and evaluate the progress.
400 girl adolescents equipped with vocational skills in Tailoring,hair dressing and knitting. 80% of the direct beneficiaries adopted to the concepts and practice of girl adolescent reproductive health rights awareness and protection. The community girl adolescents health rights abuse reduced by at least 70%
