Ready, Set, Grow!

The Resident Owned Business Incubator (ROBI) is ready to scale the program to a national public and private market.  Our previous cohort (#4) will close out the 2021 calendar year.  This last cohort put the team to the test.  We actually were able to run more than one cohort at the same time without losing any quality standards.  The students worked so very hard in keeping up with the rigorous curriculum and stayed to the end to see their vision enter the market.

One of this cohort's highlights is Mr. Charles Foreman.  He worked and operated the kitchen in many Corporate America jobs until he wanted more.  He wanted to leave something behind for his children and so he took the big leap (after much planning and saving), joined ROBI, and launched his Ice Cream Shop called Everyday's Sundae!

Here is a short video of Charles providing his cohort with some words of encouragement: Charles Foreman-Everyday's Sundae!

We held the 4th ROBI Piranha Pitch Competition on August 5, 2021. Students were able to pitch for $6,000 in cash as well as showcase their new products via the ROBI Pop-up. Students practiced very hard for Pitch Day. Najwa Womack brought home the first place winning with $3,000, Unique Williams took home $2,000 for second place and Crystal Marshall came in 3rd place taking home $1,000 cash to seed their small start-ups. Clarissa Rutger– a student in the evening class won the popular vote and took home $500 in cash. All students must submit a start-up budget, W-9, and direct deposit form showing their business checking account information to receive the pitch winnings.

We are now ready to scale ROBI to the nation, thus allowing much-needed support to under-resourced entrepreneurs throughout the United States with a full-service team that facilitates access to wealth-building opportunities found in the pathways of entrepreneurship.

Please continue to support this program.  Every dollar is matched with a dream and every dream is matched with a team.

Until next time...

Stay Great!
