With the continuing growth of teenage pregnanacy, school dropout and drug abuse in the KEEA municipality, it has become very necessary for a training cetre to be opened in the community which will role out skills and traiining activities that will give the youth the employable skills they need to take them away from these vices and also make a decent living. This project will target 120 children every year.
Elmina is fishing community and a tourist centre. The children in the community are affected by the activites of both tourist and the fisherfolks.They want to sell fish and get some money quickly and live a life like the tourist.The girls are victims, since they are easily convinced with money. According to the health centre of the comunity, there are 10 teenage pregnance report every week. This project will help 120 children to learn skills and help others to focus on their education.
By getting a training centre. Educational activites will be rolled out for children. They will be supported with after school home work and education on future prospect and importance of schooling. This wil help them focus on their future. Those who drop out from school will be helped to learn a skiiled trade,like beads making, hairdressing, make up, and others so they can do an income activty for themselves' They will also be educated of the effect of drugs.
We will train 120 school dropout with skills, that they can use as income generating business. 80 girls will be given skill training which will reduce teeage pregnancy.
