We are raising money to help to build a classroom block in Zimbabwe for children who have no school to attend today. Our goal is to promote education, by not only building a classroom block and providing spaces and resources for learning.Local children in the area where we are planing to build the classroom block. Most of them don't have any school to attend.
Zimbabwe's economy has suffered from economic instability, leaving Zimbabwe as one of the poorest countries in the world. More than 37% of Zimbabweans live below the international poverty line of US $1.25 per day and the life expectancy is 53 years of age. Today, teacher-to-student ratios are approximately 1:100. Up to 80% of children who enter rural primary schools do not complete it. Of those who do finish, only 40% continue to secondary education.
The project will introduce and engage global educational practices and foster collaboration with foreign, English speaking teachers, raising awareness of the importance of education and providing access to critical resources such as libraries. The leaders in the community will oversee the construction and management of the school. The country is lacking opportunity for education that empowers individuals and develops an intellectual foundation to grow culturally, politically and economically.
Our goal is to promote education, by not only building a school and providing spaces and resources for learning but also by creating a prototype which could serve as an example for creating additional upcoming schools in 3rd world countries. We hope to accomplish this by introducing the program and awareness of the importance of education and its impact on the knowledge and skills of children who will become the future decision makers of their country.
