FIFTH REPORT

DEAR ANIMALIX FAMILY!!

The four people who make up Animalix AC appreciate your support and trust, thank you for continuing to make donations that help us finance the actions we carry out in favor of dogs and cats in the city of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. We have been busy attending to work and personal matters, since we do not receive salaries for participating in the Civil Association, our collaboration is totally altruistic. However, we continue to work enthusiastically to the extent of our financial and time possibilities.

In these months, we focus above all on the organization of spay and neuter campaigns, because we believe that it is the only way to stop the unwanted overpopulation of animals, which almost always end up on the streets of the city, many with tragic fates. We performed 495 surgeries, more than half were cats, which is very important given that in previous years generally 75% were female dogs. In other words, after 8 years of work, positive impacts were apparently observed.

In the massive campaigns we coordinate with the Calle Cero Foundation of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, they travel the country spay and neuter animals, with their team of doctors, and when they come with us we must provide them with local transportation, food, lodging, the medical supplies; In addition to having a team of volunteers, around 50 people, who help in different areas on campaign days. Therefore, it implies a lot of work before, during and after the day. Our work ends when all the patients have recovered satisfactorily, because if a mishap occurs, it must be attended to.

Another action to which we dedicate time and financial resources are totally free veterinary medical consultations and treatments with the invaluable help of the MVZ. Luis Mario Mendez. Fortunately, there were few, around 20 patients, who were treated for various reasons: run over (one unfortunately died due to the seriousness of his injuries), starvation, malnutrition, skin problems, infected wounds, fractures.

We are not doing rescues, but we do support the people who do it, with dewormers, vaccines, food and other necessary supplies.

On the other hand, our page facebook.com/AnimalixAC is always very active, because it is the means to make citizen reports of animal abuse, report lost dogs and cats, search for support for animals that need it, etc.

Finally, we have resumed two activities that had been suspended due to the pandemic. The first, which we love, are the workshops on animal welfare and care, because in this way we contribute to changing the perception that people have towards animals, so that they think of them as living beings with rights and that need love, affection, care. , etc. And the other is the collaboration with other groups that defend the rights of animals, to pressure political actors to pass laws that begin to penalize the mistreatment of animals, because there is too much violence against them.

¡QUERIDA FAMILIA ANIMALIX!
