There is an estimated 1,000,000 people with epilepsy in Kenya mostly from rural areas where access to epilepsy clinics is a huge challenge. Many patients at the epilepsy clinics are children from very low-income families that struggle to survive from day to day, so an added expense of prescription drugs is often simply not within their means.
USD 5 can provide one patient's medication for one month. This calculates to USD 60 a year. To provide one year's supply of anti-seizure medication to 100 patients, KAWE is seeking to raise USD 6,000.
By supporting a child's treatment for a year, you will give them a better chance not only to manage their epilepsy but also to get education and success in life.
