The project will provide Insecticide Treated Nets that will be used by pregnant women and children in rural communities Kano to prevent malaria; first therapy drugs for malaria and rapid diagnostic test kits. This project also aims at teaching women home management, recognition of signs&symptoms of malaria and what to do before seeking medical care. Malaria has affected 25 children out of the 50 reported cases of malaria in one primary healthcare center in Madobi, Kano.
Madobi village in one of the Local Government Council in Kano, Nigeria has been plagued with deaths occurring amongst children from malaria due to lack of access to Insecticide Treated Nets, lack of awareness by their mothers/caregivers on first aid treatment of malaria, recognition of signs & symptoms of malaria as well as environmental cleanliness. It is as a result of this that 25 children out of the 50 out patients seen at the healthcare centre lost their lives thus our intervention to help.

The project will impact on 100 direct women which will reflect on the health and well being of their children and family and thus save lives & ricochet to more than 500 women in other neighboring communities through the cascade of knowledge learnt. There will be 20 women advocates who will be chosen to effectively monitor the lessons learnt. The project will also ensure that their surroundings are clean which will inadvertently reduce the scourge of malaria
