GOOD TO BE GOOD, a grassroots non-profit org, will provide Empowerment Care Packs (ECP) to diverse women, girls, and gender-diverse folks, particularly Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, who have experienced gender-based violence, structural poverty and marginalization. Each ECP includes nutritious food boxes, emergency cash assistance, gift cards, menstrual and personal aid, household products, a note of positive affirmation, community-based resources, and additional referrals.
Gender inequity is one of the greatest threats to lasting peace and sustainable development, having tremendous costs on communities and societies. Marginalized and low-income women & girls are at heightened risks of gender-based violence, economic instability, and deeper poverty levels, and these long-standing inequities unevenly affect them. For many women, freedom, security, and safety aren't their first options. The need for community care and gender empowerment is more significant than ever!
GOOD TO BE GOOD's Empowering Care Packs provide essential and restorative care for women, girls, and gender-diverse folks who have experienced the effects of violence, structural poverty, marginalization, social isolation. Your contributions will help ensure advocacy and barrier-free access to compassionate supports individualized to each person so they may sustain their well-being during the pandemic, providing the conditions for meaningful pathways to stability, healing, security, and agency.
Our program aims to empower made-vulnerable women to build safe and thriving livelihoods with trauma-informed, enhancing care and uplifting their voices and experiences in communities. We see profound value in supporting women to access their human rights: the right to safety, protection, food, shelter, healthcare, and enabling their development and capacity to exercise power and transformation for themselves. To empower women means a lasting investment in their future-and the whole ecosystem!
