PHASE Nepal works in remote and isolated areas of Nepal supporting free primary health care, livelihood and education improvement, supporting PWDs, disaster risk reduction, research and now Covid-19 response. PHASE Nepal provides direct health services to more than 90,000 patients/year in remote Humla, Mugu, Bajura, Sindhupalchok and Gorkha. Thus, this project aims to save lives of health workers and community workers by supporting their treatment incase of possible infection & complication.
PHASE Nepal team is providing such as basic primary health care, safe motherhood care, livelihoods improvement, food security, many other community development activities, even in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic in most needy and remote locations of Nepal. PHASE Nepal's aim is to ensure the treatment of its health workers and the team so that it can continue to provide services to the more vulnerable. PHASE Nepal has started a fund of $5000 and aims to reach $50000 fund for the initiative.
The project will assure the treatment and hospitalization of the frontline health workers, community facilitators and the management team in the case of severe illness developed by the Covid-19 infection. With this assurance all the health services and essential community work from will continue in full-fledged in the remote villages. This fund is for those hard times when the staff actually have a Covid-19 positive test result accompanied by the severe illness/symptoms needing life support.
This project will enable PHASE to set up an emergency treatment fund which it plans to developed as a permanent fund. In addition to providing treatment and hospitalization support, the long-term fund will also provide lifesaving support such as airlifting of women with complicated deliveries from remote areas. Therefore, in the long run, it will not just be an organization's fund it will be the fund for the PHASE's remote working communities to support in health emergencies.
