Through our partnership with the NGO CEPIA we have reached 32 Guancaste communities, offering active listening through Vital Voices coaches and mentors, and the possibility to access free psycotheraphy through licensed psychologists at CEPIA's community center. So far 150 people have recieved these services and we are committed to get to 500. Through this project and through the support of other partners such as the Fondo Canada, Vital Voices has trained 100 volunteers, done a substantial efforts to reach people in the community using "perifoneo and volanteo", and has created a virtual community called "Listening Brigade" to maintain open projects all year round. The goal is to be able to provide active listening and psychoemotional-first aid and training to local leaders where the aid is needed. Eventhough, we found a lot of resilience in their stories, the pandemia shut down a lot of the turism activity they have lost their jobs and way of living. We are committed to keep up this humanitarian work, because we believe in the power of human connection and of listening without judgement! Please join us as a volunteer, as a donor, or both, take your part in a culture of love, mentorship and resilience!
