Animals in Venezuela are dying of hunger. The severe crisis in our country is making it harder every day to raise funds to continue with our work, which we started 10 years ago. Yet, we currently have 270 rescued dogs that depend exclusively on our organisation's help and knowing that we have the funds to cover for their shelter and food until the end of year would be their Christmas' gift! 5,000$ would help us cover 3 months while they wait to be adopted and have a second chance.
As you are probably aware of, Venezuela is currently undergoing a severe crisis. Scarcity, hyperinflation, shortages, violence and accelerated emmigration have put our organization under tremendous stress. Since 2007, we have worked tirelessly to end animal abuse and neglect in Venezuela. Our NGO has over 270 animals under its direct care, many of them in rehabilitation programs. Our funding comes from private individuals, but the crisis has led to a drastic drop in donations.
Since 2007, we have worked tirelessly to end animal abuse and neglect in Venezuela. Our focus is on a strong spay and neuter program as well as on the creation - through education - of a culture where animal rights and welfare are an integral part of the community. Our 270 animals are in shelters for which we have to pay monthly, waiting for a second chance of being adopted. The funds we raise will allows us to secure they food and shelter for 3 months, while promoting adoptions.
Most of our resources are currently being used to pay for food and shelter, but we know that the true impact comes from fixing and spaying. If we are able to raise funds for our rescued animals expenses, that means that the funds we raise locally can be used completely to cover for our subsidised spay/neuter programs that benefit thousands of animals every year in many areas of the country, therefore improving more animals' lives.
