Challenge

There has (331,491 households) displaced person since the outbreak of the war in Yemen, according to the Task Force on Population Movement (TFPM is"Report),"1,988,946. They receive food, shelter, health, etc. but their needs which belong to cooking are seldom met. Which leads them to sell the aid they receive, or resort to cooking using tires as fuel, rusted metal materials as utensils to cook and save. This is worrying for the health of children and women, especially with the spread of epidemics.

Solution

SORD plans to provide an integrated kitchen for every Yemeni displaced family in some displacement camps in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a. The project will provide basic cooking needs for 1,000 displaced families by providing them with: cooking stoves, gas cylinders, cooking utensils, complete cooking utensils suitable for long-term use, suitable water bucket, household cleaning and sterilization supplies.

Long-Term Impact

- The project will provide an integrated kitchen for 1,000 displaced families, which will protect them from diseases that may result from unhealthy cooking. - Beneficiaries will be able to benefit from the food aid they receive, and will feel psychologically stable, with all the components of the house available. - The project will draw the attention of humanitarian organizations and make them respond to the needs of the rest of the displaced in this area.
