Terms + Conditions

• During every Accelerator there is one "Bonus Day" in which GlobalGiving releases $12,000 USD in matching funds and cash prizes. The 2017 September Accelerator Bonus Day will be from 09:00:01 EDT to 23:59:59 EDT on Tuesday, September 19th, 2017.
• Only organizations participating in GlobalGiving's 2017 September Accelerator are eligible to participate in this Accelerator Bonus Day.
• Matching Funds: On Bonus Day starting at 09:00:01 EDT on September 19th online donations between $25 and $500 USD per donor per project will be matched by GlobalGiving at 20% until the total matching grant of $10,000 USD is used up or until Bonus Day comes to a close, whichever comes first. The Accelerator Bonus Day Leaderboard will display how many matching funds remain. Donations will be matched based on the order in which they are received.
• Online donations below $25 will be counted on the Main Accelerator Leaderboard, but will not be reflected on the Accelerator Bonus Day Leaderboard and will not be matched or counted for the cash prizes. These donations will count towards the $5,000 and 40 donor thresholds.
• Projects can receive up to, but no more than, $500 in matching funds on Bonus Day.  
• Bonus Day matching funds and bonus prizes will not count towards the $5,000 and 40 donor thresholds.
• For the purposes of calculating matching amounts, donations made in other currencies will be converted to USD. The exchange rate will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor's bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
• Cash Prizes: The projects with the most funds raised and the most unique donors on Bonus Day will each receive an additional $1,000 cash prize.
• Recurring Donations: On Bonus Day, any new, unique recurring donors projects secure will count as two unique donors towards Bonus Day prizes as well as towards the project's overall donor count in the Accelerator. If a recurring donation set up on Bonus Day - or at any point in the Accelerator - is cancelled before the end of the crowdfunding campaign, the unique donor will only count once and could jeopardize prize placement. Recurring donations to projects of organizations that do not become GlobalGiving partners will be automatically canceled after the conclusion of the September Accelerator.
• Please note that all donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
• Only online donations made using PayPal, Apple Pay, or debit or credit card are eligible for matching. Online donations must be made by the account or credit card holder.
• Online donations are considered unique if they are made from separate emails. We also request that different credit cards be used and monitor this in our databases. We are monitoring I.P. addresses, credit cards, mailing addresses, and various other parameters in our system to ensure that only unique donors are counted towards the Accelerator thresholds.
• Any activity not in the spirit of fair play is being moderated by GlobalGiving and GlobalGiving reserves the right to permanently disqualify organizations for any attempts of misconduct.
• Any transactions that are reported as fraudulent and/or reversed jeopardizes your participation and GlobalGiving retains the discretion to disqualify your organization from the Accelerator.
• Please note that GlobalGiving maintains the right to make a final decision on all matters concerning the adjudication of unique donors and final results of the 2017 September Accelerator.
• Funds raised through eligible partner platforms during the September Accelerator Bonus Day will not count towards matching funds or bonus prizes but may count towards the Accelerator threshold. Terms and Conditions apply.
• Funds raised on Bonus Day will be disbursed in accordance with the Accelerator Terms + Conditions.
• GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and a registered charity in England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP. Gift Aid does not count towards project totals in the Accelerator.
• Transaction fee for donations: GlobalGiving charges a fee but works to keep the fees you pay as low as possible while providing you great services and resources. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, provides you with fundraising training and tools, and maintains and improves our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors. Donors will be asked to add an optional tip to their contribution (a donation to GlobalGiving) to support the high-touch programs and services for nonprofits within the GlobalGiving network.
