Here are some of the online events that
we devised to train and motivate our
staff for online teaching.

Discovery Research:
 From September
2020 – March 2021, we trained our
principals, vice-principals, and 40
teachers on how to organize and
research information and make a
PowerPoint presentation from it.

Communication Workshop: Swami
Ekapada, who teaches at Isha Home
School, led a month-long online
communication workshop for the
Central Academic Team (CAT) in
May 2021 which was a fun and
interactive learning experience.

The CAT is now training the principals
and vice-principals, and doing a pilot
session with students before taking it
further.

Guest sessions: Once every two
weeks, we invite speakers from all
over the world to share their knowledge
with our principals, vice-principals,
CAT, and students on topics like 3D
Printing, Teaching English with AI,
etc. Some recent guests were
Prof. Muki Haklay – Prof. Univ. of
London, Gary Bolles – Educator,
Speaker, and Entrepreneur.

As the schools had been closed for
the Covid-19 pandemic, online sessions
like these provided great support
to the staff of Isha Vidhya. We thank
everyone who made these kind of
sessions possible.

We thank you for your continued
support to Isha Vidhya, and we
look forward for your continued
support.

From July 2020, students from Isha Vidhya
Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, and Erode in
Grades 6-8 were trained by Shuddi Vidhya,
a Chennai-based NGO, in web development
using HTML and CSS, and gained a
foundation in programming.

For the workshop, Shuddhi Vidhya
effectively used:

- The Google classroom for organizing the
course content and dispensing assignments.

- WhatsApp to communicate with students.

- A custom-built leaderboard application to
facilitate the monitoring of individual,
group, and class performances.

The workshop also helped the students
to create their own email IDs, take initiative,
give expression to their creativity, and
acquire the requisite skills for effective
collaboration.

Gopinath, from Isha Vidhya Dharmapuri,
one of the winners of a post-workshop
competition, says the workshop has helped
him learn how to browse the internet,
and to develop and enrich his coding
skills – a good start for pursuing web
development as a career.

As the schools had been closed for
the Covid-19 pandemic, online sessions
like these provide great education
experience to the students of Isha
Vidhya. We thank everyone who
made these kind of sessions possible.

We thank you for your continued
support to Isha Vidhya, and we
look forward for your continued
support.

Space Odyssey For Isha Vidhya Students!

Space-Odyssey-04-09-2021-GS

70 Isha Vidhya students explored new
possibilities at a 10-day live online
workshop conducted by Chennai-based
Vaayusastra Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. By
drawing and making paper models,
students were able to enhance their
imagination and creative skills, and
to deepen their interest in aeronautics,
aerospace, and physics-related studies.

A team of professional theatre artists
and aeronautical engineers conducted
the science and story sessions about
space, aeronautics, and its history in
a play-way method through stories,
videos, and activities.

Students aspiring to become astronauts,
pilots, and scientists found the workshop
helpful and inspiring. Our science
teachers learned new ways to keep
students engaged by employing stories
and paper models to teach new scientific
concepts.

As the schools had been closed for
the Covid-19 pandemic, online sessions
like these provide great education
experience to the students of Isha
Vidhya. We thank everyone who
made these kind of sessions possible.

We thank you for your continued
support to Isha Vidhya, and we
look forward for your continued
support.
