Let's Fight COVID-19 Together, Once Again

Relief Distribution by JAAGO In This Pandemic

The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused mankind to face various adversities around the world. Various cities around the world are stunned in the beginning. Roads, schools, shops, vehicles were all dead empty. Cities had been locked up to fight the virus transmission, Bangladesh was no exception.

In particular, under the COVID-19 resistance war, the underprivileged people in society are still suffering the most. They are dealing with the difficult reality of life on a regular basis and struggling to put food on the table. In such a situation, JAAGO Foundation has taken the initiative to stand beside these labourers, hawkers, rickshaw pullers and many other workers with food and other essentials.

“People call it charity, we call it responsibility”, an idea long espoused and encouraged by Mr. Korvi Rakshand, Founder & Executive Director of JAAGO Foundation. Since the beginning of the lockdown, JAAGO Foundation has launched a Corona Relief Fund to help these underprivileged classes of society. Almost every day, they distributed food packages to help these disadvantaged families.

JAAGO has already conducted its relief distribution project in ten districts, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Gaibandha, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Habiganj, Bandarban, and Teknaf. Many lower-middle-class families around us are facing financial problems, as their breadwinners have lost their jobs during this pandemic. And through this program, JAAGO has reached out to these families and helped them put food on their table.

Our volunteers worked tirelessly to distribute our food packages among these lower-middle-class families in different parts of the country. Our volunteers strictly maintained social distancing while executing this program. They had talked with the locals as well, to raise awareness among them about the dos and don’ts during this pandemic. We performed our distribution in these districts, using our schools as relief centers.

The second wave of COVID-19 has already hit the country. So there is an increase in the detection of new cases and deaths due to the infection as well. Our government has already taken the necessary initiatives to tackle the upcoming surge. But that is not enough. We are planning to resume our relief activity again. And for that we are in dire need of your help. With your help, we will be able to help the marginalized communities once again.

Let's come forward and fight this battle together. Along with our volunteers, JAAGO is determined to move forward overcoming all the obstacles. This journey couldn’t have been possible without our NGO partners, corporates, donors, and well-wishers who have been our constant companions in fulfilling this goal. We express our heartfelt appreciation for your kindness. It is your love and support which inspires us to move forward and do better.

Online Teaching-Learning for Rohingya Children

Education for Everyone
Education for Everyone

At the beginning of 2018, JAAGO introduced the Safe Haven project where it helped to support 500 traumatized Rohingya children physically and mentally by providing them with a safe space where they can be engaged in regular childhood social experiences, learning, and emotional healing.

Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, all the learning centers were closed. All the activities were suspended except food distribution and medical facilities. But we have been in touch with our students and made sure everyone is safe and staying in their house. We started collecting data and making a plan to implement Telephone education in the camp.

Our government has already enabled a 3G/4G network there. So now we are planning to introduce an online teaching-learning process over there after getting approval from RRRC. This process is safe, cost-effective, easy to implement, and has a great monitoring system developed by JAAGO. But in order to introduce this interactive, blended online teaching-learning process over the camp, we need to digitize our learning centers first.

Currently, our Project Officer is getting Master Training in Online teaching-learning process and assessment. Later the Project Officer will train our teachers on online modality. And we are still in communication on how we can start the teaching-learning process again in the camp.

This journey to provide Rohingya children with a safe abode couldn't have been possible without our NGO partners, corporates, donors, and well-wishers who have been our companions in the path of fulfilling this dream. Thank you for your generous support and for putting a smile on the faces of 500 Rohingya children. We would love to express our appreciation on behalf of them. Our current activities still require a lot of support and we are on the way to developing the project even better. So we sincerely request our well-wishers and donors to keep supporting us. Your help and support have always inspired us to move forward and do better.

Expending our efforts in educating all children

Nabela Noor, being a changemaker, launched the ‘Noor House’ program with a goal to sponsor 20 female students from JAAGO Foundation schools and support them till graduation. She also managed 5 more education sponsorships through her fans and family under this program.

Since its beginning, the Noor House Scholarship Program improved and uplifted the lives of these disadvantaged girl children with the light of education. Through this project, the girls gained knowledge and skills for a better life and are now on their path to become self-sufficient and empowered young women. This project was aimed to educate girls exclusively through your generous donations. And for that, we are thankful to all of you. It is your continued support that has made it possible for us to realize the dreams of countless girl children all these past years.

After a long and fruitful journey, we have decided to shift The Noor House Scholarship Program beneficiaries and make it a part of our Free-of-cost School for Underprivileged Children project where we focus on expending all our efforts in educating all children, not just girls. The main objective of this shift is to make the management of our various projects easier. We hope to have you with us on this journey as well.

Thank you for staying with us! We hope that you keep helping these children in the future as well and making their lives wonderful.
